An unexpected surprise. While on the phone to my father, complaining about my Peugeot 406 HDI and its blown head gasket, he asked me if I wanted a car. He has had an 1980 MGB GT gathering dust in storage for about 16 years and has realised he’s never going to get around to doing anything with it. He lives in Switzerland and the car is in the UK, so the one condition is that if he ever buys a car in the UK, he wants his personalised number plate back. Apparently it only has around 11,000 miles on the clock and, although it was in good condition when it went into storage, it is probably going to need some work to get it back on the road.

So, as soon as my Pug is back on the road, I intend to hire a trailer and collect my new toy.
