getting oily

MGOC Accessories (my favourite url at the moment) can supply an excellent 12,000 mile service kit, tailored to your MG. So, I knew I would have everything in my box to carry out the oil and filter change. Although it is better changing oil when the engine is a little warm, I didn’t want to even contemplate starting the engine until it is filled with nice, fresh fluids.

The plugs, points and condenser are also in the kit. The plugs gave me a good chance to try out my new torque wrench and the points gave me a chance to try a couple of new swear words. I think I got the gaps right, I guess I’ll find out when I do get around to trying to start the engine. The HT leads were not included in the kit but, although the old ones looked good, it’s the ignition system that always seems to be the cause of problems on older cars, so I wasn’t going to skimp.
