a sister arrives

Added another MG to the stable today. Meg is now my wife Helen’s new transport. I’m not going to track costs on Meg like I am on Midgie. Suffice to say, following MG Rover’s sad demise, used MGs are available at bargain basement prices at the moment. Meg has 34k miles on the clock, in perfect condition – she is one of those bargains.

We needed to exchange Helen’s BMW Compact for a more ‘sensible’ sized car, as we have an impending new baby to transport. The MG provided 4 doors and the looks and driving experience that Helen has grown accustomed to. She was the closest we could get to my old Alfa Romeo 156 on our limited budget. Meg handles and performs like a sports car, but with the subtle looks and convenience of a saloon, albeit a somewhat hot saloon!

I love this car, but my sensible daily driver is a Peugeot 406 estate. Absence makes the heart grow fonder they say, so I will have to make the most of every opportunity I get to drive Meg.
