investigations part 2

I happen to be in the neighbourhood of CCK today (well, a lot closer than usual) so I thought I’d check on progress.

The whole fuel system has been drained, cleaned out and refilled and on the rolling road she is running sweetly. I had asked them to road test extensively to make sure everything was fine, so they wanted to go out for a run before confirming that I could collect.

A phone call in the afternoon brings bad news. Absolutely perfect for the first 15 miles, then misfiring – my exact symptoms. It appears the rear carb has stopped delivering fuel, so now they will try stripping that down.

Which means it will be ages before I can collect, because holiday time is approaching.
